WedCam Privacy Policy

WedCam Pty Ltd (ABN 62 702 494 862), trading as WedCam ("we", "us"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we look after it.
What we collect
Your name, your partner's name, email address, phone number, wedding date, venue and shipping address
Your answers to our booking form questions
If you book as a gift: your details, and the couple's names and (if you give it) their email
Messages and contact details you send us by email, Instagram or other social platforms
Payment details, which are handled directly by Stripe and never stored by us
Your wedding footage and finished film
Information about how you use our website, such as pages visited, clicks, scrolling and device type
How we use it
To take and manage your booking, including shipping your kit where one is included
To create and deliver your film
To contact you about your booking
To charge your saved card, only in the situations set out in our Rental Agreement (such as damage, loss or late return)
To send marketing emails, if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To improve our website and services
We don't sell your information to anyone.
Who we share it with
We use third-party services to run WedCam, and your information passes through some of them:
Squarespace (website)
Google Firebase (booking website and booking records)
Google Maps (address lookup on our booking form)
Stripe (payments, and securely saving your card for the purposes above)
Resend (booking emails, and marketing emails if you've opted in)
ManyChat (Instagram messaging)
Dropbox (footage transfer)
Australia Post (shipping)
Microsoft Clarity (website analytics, including recordings of how visitors use our site)
Meta (advertising, where you've engaged with our ads)
Each of these has its own privacy policy. Some of them are based outside Australia, so your information may be stored or accessed overseas.
Your footage and film
Kit bookings (footage filmed on our camcorders): we may use short clips, screenshots or still frames on our website, social media and advertising. If you'd prefer we didn't, tell us in writing (a reply to any of our emails is fine) within 14 days of receiving your finished film, and we won't use any of your footage. If you change your mind later, we'll remove posts from our own pages where reasonably possible.
Footage you supply to us for editing: we use your footage and film for your edit only. We don't use it on our website, social media or advertising.
If you tag us or send us content, we may share it on our social media with credit. Let us know at any time if you'd like it taken down.
How long we keep your information
Booking, order and contact records: 7 years, to meet Australian tax and record-keeping requirements
Footage from kit bookings: 12 months after we send you your film and files, after which we may delete it
Footage you supply to us for editing, and films made from it: 3 months after delivery, after which we delete them. As you supply this footage, please always keep your own original copy.
Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe
Please download and back up your film and footage as soon as you receive them. Once deleted, we can't recover them.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure storage and limited access. Your card details are held by Stripe and are never stored by us. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You can ask us to see the information we hold about you, correct anything that's wrong, or delete your information (unless we need to keep it by law). Email us at hello@wedcam.com.au.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to keep the site working and to understand how visitors use it. You can turn cookies off in your browser, though some parts of the site may not work properly.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on our website.
